Is Volvo really a safe car?

I had the opportunity to test out if Volvo was really a safe vehicle.

In a bumper-to-bumper accident.

Yesh, I got involved in a accident. My safe driver image (sorry Chian Hui, sorry Joanna!) is brushed off for good. But I promise to work my hardest to get that title back!

I kept my lane. But a red Wira which stayed on a lane leading to the flyover last minute-ly changed lanes (to pump petrol, of all things lol) and thud!, this post was born.

By the way, Volvo is officially safe. More than safe. The safest safe. Amat safe sekali.

Only the signal glass was smashed in an average triangular shape.

And good thing the man knew the situation well enough to let things off the hook.

The accident wasn't so bad, I would say. Going home was tougher. I had no idea what my parents were going to say. No idea. Clueless. Idealess. (Okay I'm done with synonyms hehe).

My mom was strict with me. "You drive too fast", "Please... slow down", "Drive with two hands, not one on the wheel, the other on your hair"... I treasure these words more now than before.

Oh no, what's my dad going to say?

He came into the living room all smiles when he heard the news.

"Are you mad?" I asked.

He said, "Why would I be mad?" and continued after pausing shortly, "Accidents happen. Take your lesson from it."

God is so good for letting these happen. Hallelujah!

Signing off,
I realised my walking is slowing down a bit too. Must be post-traumatic-symptoms! I'm afraid of banging walls lar lol.

TVs and potatoes

I've been a serious contender for the World Potato Couch Championship, I tell you. Watch TV everyday only.

Speaking of potatoes, I'm making potato salad later lol

What's on TV these days?

Well, there's American Idol on Star World. Forgotten to post about how close Matt Giraud was to elimination (he was saved by the judges!).

Then there's The Biggest Loser on Hallmark.

More exciting than the former by A MILE.

[edited]
Wipeout on AXN is refreshing amongst the shows on deck.

Paris Hilton's My New BFF on MTV.
Err skip

E! News, THS, BTS, Kimora...

Not to mention the salivating Asian Food Channel. So much food, so little time

Still, time is well spent in daily devotion. Been reading Nehemiah from the Old Testament, and I am blessed!

Easter

I stayed away from this blog for too long (having my finals). I'll make it up by posting something a little different.

A 33 year-old man was nailed to death on Good Friday.

The reason behind the nailing was very simple, people called him a liar. A very very big liar.

But the thing was, he didn't lie.

All he did was telling people about the greatest news ever, but people doubted him because they thought it was too good to be true. They decided they didn't want to hear all the nonsense anymore and called him a joke, sending him to be nailed to death.

This man who willingly laid down his life as a sacrifice for many was Jesus, and although he died, he rose again 3 days later. He certainly wasn't joking when he said that "I am the Son of God. I am the way, the truth, and the life."

Jesus is still alive till this day. The empty tomb is there to prove my Savior lives.

1 Corinthians 15:17
And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.

He died on the cross for the wrongdoings of every single person. I live to take up my cross.

Signing off,
Rev David Pawson said that the Bible is like a romance-genre book, from the beginning till the end, it's about a bride getting ready for her marriage, and finally meeting the bridegroom. Never occurred to me like that before..
Blessed Easter ppl! ;)

Give it a 60 minutes rest

The foursome in my family joined in late at 9.00.

We just sat in the living room with all lights off. Note, all lights of the living room off. Which meant the stairs light (not in the living room) was actually on. Hehe.

At first it was uncomfortable and we didn't know what to do, so it resulted to us staring at the digital clock on Astro decoder.

I took out my phone and played Corrine Bailey Rae. Girl put your records on, tell me your favorite song, just go ahead let your hair down.

Letting my hair down I did, since we didn't off the fan. We only off the lights right. :P

Coincidentally, the song from my phone was sang by dunno how many people on American Idol. And talking about American Idol, I'm supporting Matt Giraud - who btw did not deserve the bottom 2 spot last week lor...

Anyway.

My mom hearts Adam Lambert, the guy below.

She's not that tech-savvy, so when she said, "I want the background (of the shared home computer) playing an Adam Lambert song. Ke yi fang mah (Can fix anot)?"

@.@ Good thing there's no such thing.

My dad was quietly observing, while shaving manually. I asked him what he was doing (since I couldn't really see in the dark).

"Relaxing."

@.@ Well, it seemed funny at that second.

Can't really recall what my sister was doing. I only know she skipped her Pandu Puteri camp that night la.

I know Earth Hour was supposed to stir awareness on global warming, but it sort of warmed the atmosphere in our home too. Sighs.

Life can't be a dot

Googled image

When I was really young, I used to close my eyes and pretended that life never existed.

No exams, no schools, no people, no time, no world.

Again, I was really young. I think I was still in primary school.

I had a feeling that life was just an imagination.*

As I grow older right, those kind of thoughts disappeared. I was very occupied with life. I make more mistakes and learn new things. I worry and I have fun. I cry and I laugh. I change (physically) and I make new friends.

But what is life? Life wasn't about happy endings, or is it?

Many people are still looking for the answers to these questions.

I believe in Jesus. He saved my life. He pulled me out of the darkness (you know how people are naturally afraid of the dark? I think it's built in) - and I'm ever grateful because life now had meaning. I have this want to tell other people too.

What really matters in your life?

* Don't worry, I didn't have depressing thoughts when I was young. I was innocent lah lol.
