Which reminds me

This picture is taken from Google accidentally. Nice huh?

It's a combination of red and green solids in this picture. Reminds me of Christmas. Does it remind you of Christmas too?

I like how she looks up to whatever she is looking at. Reminds me of looking up to the Hope i have.

Most of all, this picture reminds me to update my blog which has been abandoned for quite some time now..

Friend, i wish you a Merry Christmas!

When advertisements start making sense

Mapo-tofu... so salivating right.

I was browsing through some Internet applications and I saw an advertisement saying, "Soy proteins make you fat and increase your belly fat"!

Before you read any further, you should know that I love soy products. Tofu is an addiction, unfortunately for me. =(

But I do love tofu lah, not forced to like it or something.

Mr. Mike Geary, a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutrition Specialist says that many people are deceived and misled into believing soy protein, soy milk, soybean oil, and processed soy foods are "healthy"... when the truth is that soy has many anti-nutrients and negative factors on the body that we should be concerned about - like increasing your stomach fat.

Ouch. Now I know why...

Romans 14:20
Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble.

Food for thought, literally!

The second traveler

A traveler nearing a great city asked an old man seated by the road, "What are the people like in this city?"

"What were they like where you came from?" the man asked.

"Horrible," the traveler reported. "Mean, untrustworthy, detestable in all respects."

"Ah," said the old man, "you will find them the same in the city ahead."

Scarcely had the first traveler gone on his way when another stopped to inquire about the people in this city before him. Again the old man asked about the people in the place the traveler had just left.

"They were fine people: honest, industrious, and generous to a fault," declared the second traveler. "I was sorry to leave."

The old man responded, "That's exactly how you'll find the people here."

Scribbles

Dear pimple(s),

Thanks for cruising with me during these few days of exam. I appreciate the pain and squeezes I had to endure. Thankfully the exams are over, I can now say goodbye to you zits!

Oh yes.

And now... it's time to let the holiday mood settle in. And spend good quality time with people!

Of black tops and teh tariks

Two friends wearing black tops and drinking their teh tarik until the same volume is left in their cups is not a coincidence. Took a photo to commemorate the event lol.

Chia Yee told me not to tag her on Facebook.

And I didn't. Hahahaha.

... Now back to my books.

Pray Until Something Happens (P.U.S.H.)

Dear God, help me to:

She stood on the first row

I gotta feeling
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night

Wei Wei was like, "So fast its LOUD! 09? LOUD! 08 just passed only wey." XD

A church stripped off its many perception that churches are boring. We are created by a creative God - He made the earth and everything in it - so its only right if we as His people are creative too! There's nothing wrong with Christians having fun. Good fun.

I stood on the first row and sang along to What About Now and Say. I totally lost myself there lol. The Viva La Vida finale (psst Aisha!) was incredible as the whole crowd of close to 2000 sang to the chorus of "Wooooooohhh..."

Most importantly, with the message in closing, many made the decisions to believe in the One love that is perfect. In the life of a good shepherd who laid down his life for his sheeps.

It was not just a good night on the 26th July. It was a great night. It was a celebration of living out our destinies. And that's why they say, you've got ONE LIFE, live it to the fullest!

LOUD! 2010 is coming to Dream Centre near you. ;P

She says teehee

Teehee.

I tried to find Chia Yee's chatbox in her blog but I didn't see anything. I think my comp's lagging lol. But anyway I just want to tell her, "Chia Yee! I'm so sorry for causing you to cross your curfew hour. 1.30am is very early i mean late (depending on how you count haha). I'm glad you enjoyed the show!"

Teehee again.

Oh no I do not hook up, up
I go slow

So if you want me I don't come cheap

Keep your head on my hand, your heart on your sleeve
Oh no I do not hook up, up

I fall deep

The more that you try, the harder I'll fight to say goodnight.

Girl, you need to realise your inner beauty is oh so more important =).
Yes I'm writing for all of you girls reading it. Never for once doubt that you're pretty on the inside!

There Wai How and Ivan, I updated. I accepted your bets. Hahaha no McDs for the both of you. (Kelly Clarkson's sorrie face above lol). Teehee.

She feels like updating

I was humbled and shocked (in a good way) when Joo Li wrote on her blog "Don't know why, I can always feel the sincere whenever I see you". That's so sweet lar! ;) Anyway, don't worry too much about your skin okay? I will pray for you! Hahah. Sorry for cramping-all-the-words-together, I know the font is really really small, to whoever's reading and getting a headache out of this :p

I can't find any new pictures also to update. Have to use this black and white photo from the Web. =.=' We will need to take pictures on Saturday. Right anot?

Wished that Pek could be there for the play, but all the best for your taekwando! :P

Is Volvo really a safe car?

I had the opportunity to test out if Volvo was really a safe vehicle.

In a bumper-to-bumper accident.

Yesh, I got involved in a accident. My safe driver image (sorry Chian Hui, sorry Joanna!) is brushed off for good. But I promise to work my hardest to get that title back!

I kept my lane. But a red Wira which stayed on a lane leading to the flyover last minute-ly changed lanes (to pump petrol, of all things lol) and thud!, this post was born.

By the way, Volvo is officially safe. More than safe. The safest safe. Amat safe sekali.

Only the signal glass was smashed in an average triangular shape.

And good thing the man knew the situation well enough to let things off the hook.

The accident wasn't so bad, I would say. Going home was tougher. I had no idea what my parents were going to say. No idea. Clueless. Idealess. (Okay I'm done with synonyms hehe).

My mom was strict with me. "You drive too fast", "Please... slow down", "Drive with two hands, not one on the wheel, the other on your hair"... I treasure these words more now than before.

Oh no, what's my dad going to say?

He came into the living room all smiles when he heard the news.

"Are you mad?" I asked.

He said, "Why would I be mad?" and continued after pausing shortly, "Accidents happen. Take your lesson from it."

God is so good for letting these happen. Hallelujah!

Signing off,
I realised my walking is slowing down a bit too. Must be post-traumatic-symptoms! I'm afraid of banging walls lar lol.

TVs and potatoes

I've been a serious contender for the World Potato Couch Championship, I tell you. Watch TV everyday only.

Speaking of potatoes, I'm making potato salad later lol

What's on TV these days?

Well, there's American Idol on Star World. Forgotten to post about how close Matt Giraud was to elimination (he was saved by the judges!).

Then there's The Biggest Loser on Hallmark.

More exciting than the former by A MILE.

Wipeout on AXN is refreshing amongst the shows on deck.

Easter

I stayed away from this blog for too long (having my finals). I'll make it up by posting something a little different.

A 33 year-old man was nailed to death on Good Friday.

The reason behind the nailing was very simple, people called him a liar. A very very big liar.

But the thing was, he didn't lie.

All he did was telling people about the greatest news ever, but people doubted him because they thought it was too good to be true. They decided they didn't want to hear all the nonsense anymore and called him a joke, sending him to be nailed to death.

This man who willingly laid down his life as a sacrifice for many was Jesus, and although he died, he rose again 3 days later. He certainly wasn't joking when he said that "I am the Son of God. I am the way, the truth, and the life."

Jesus is still alive till this day. The empty tomb is there to prove my Savior lives.

1 Corinthians 15:17
And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.

He died on the cross for the wrongdoings of every single person. I live to take up my cross.

Give it a 60 minutes rest

The foursome in my family joined in late at 9.00.

We just sat in the living room with all lights off. Note, all lights of the living room off. Which meant the stairs light (not in the living room) was actually on. Hehe.

At first it was uncomfortable and we didn't know what to do, so it resulted to us staring at the digital clock on Astro decoder.

I took out my phone and played Corrine Bailey Rae. Girl put your records on, tell me your favorite song, just go ahead let your hair down.

Letting my hair down I did, since we didn't off the fan. We only off the lights right. :P

Coincidentally, the song from my phone was sang by dunno how many people on American Idol. And talking about American Idol, I'm supporting Matt Giraud - who btw did not deserve the bottom 2 spot last week lor...

Anyway.

My mom hearts Adam Lambert, the guy below.

She's not that tech-savvy, so when she said, "I want the background (of the shared home computer) playing an Adam Lambert song. Ke yi fang mah (Can fix anot)?"

@.@ Good thing there's no such thing.

My dad was quietly observing, while shaving manually. I asked him what he was doing (since I couldn't really see in the dark).

"Relaxing."

@.@ Well, it seemed funny at that second.

Can't really recall what my sister was doing. I only know she skipped her Pandu Puteri camp that night la.

I know Earth Hour was supposed to stir awareness on global warming, but it sort of warmed the atmosphere in our home too. Sighs.

Life can't be a dot

Googled image

When I was really young, I used to close my eyes and pretended that life never existed.

No exams, no schools, no people, no time, no world.

Again, I was really young. I think I was still in primary school.

I had a feeling that life was just an imagination.*

As I grow older right, those kind of thoughts disappeared. I was very occupied with life. I make more mistakes and learn new things. I worry and I have fun. I cry and I laugh. I change (physically) and I make new friends.

But what is life? Life wasn't about happy endings, or is it?

Many people are still looking for the answers to these questions.

I believe in Jesus. He saved my life. He pulled me out of the darkness (you know how people are naturally afraid of the dark? I think it's built in) - and I'm ever grateful because life now had meaning. I have this want to tell other people too.

What really matters in your life?

* Don't worry, I didn't have depressing thoughts when I was young. I was innocent lah lol.

1. Revising for Mid-Term (was supposed to post this last week).

2. American Idol Season 8.

Just can't miss an episode of this show even though it's losing its shine.

3. Pet Society.

It's in your Facebook. Chia Yee and Siew Mei and Joo Li and Wei Wei and Pek Kuan (didn't see Chee Hong's pet yet lol) are playing it also. And Siew Mei is clouding my mind by calling me cute. I didn't know I got pattern wan. XD

4. Muttons to Midnight Podcast.

2 Singaporean Radio DJs playing with lyrics on air. I laughed until I cried watching it the first time okay. A Must-Watch.

You're like an owl

Am referring to platonic friendships too!
Sadly no boys in this Googled picture haha.

A friend is like a flower, a rose to be exact.
Or maybe like a brand new gate, that never comes unlatched.
A friend is like an owl, both beautiful and wise.
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost, whose spirit never dies.
A friend is like a heart that goes strong until the end.
Where would we be in this world if we didn't have a friend.

Sunday morning

Am blogging here from SJMC, Subang Jaya Med Centre. Which is now known as Sime Darby Medical btw.

Anyways,my sister has been admitted in for pre-treatment of dengue. Blood tests have shown low count of White Blood Cells and Platelets. Hahaha yes, my Biology knowledge flew straight into my head when the names were mentioned.

I seriously appreciate those who had prayed for my family! I know that God will take us through this because just one day before my sister was admitted in, Gos told me in Job Chapter 1, "Do you fear God for nothing?"

I am growing and knowing that I fear Him because of His real wonders!

I trust Your wonders, I obey Your precepts Lord and I fear You for how real You are. ;)

Ever had a pain in the midst of somewhere you can't be excused?

I just learned about the nonpainful nerve impulses and pain impulses a few days ago. Basically, these two impulses compete to reach our brains first and the winner takes control of our pain.

If nonpainful nerve impulses get there first, pain is dulled.

Vice versa.

But does that mean that testimonies of "God healing my tummy ache (and headache and dot dot dot) when I pray" are actually nothing at all?

Googled picture

Wait wait, that's like imagining missing the point.

The point is, my body was created by Someone, who was an absolute genius.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Whoever said that "Girls pull another girl's hair while fighting..." may just be right

All images are taken at Google's :)

With two well-known romantic comedy leading ladies - who are both very talented in their own ways - this movie passed by quickly without too much painful moments. I had a great time sweeping popcorns into my mouth watching the chick flick. Until my throat kind of got dry some more.

Before I walked in, I was more of a Anne Hathaway fan. But after watching it, I became more of Kate Hudson's lol. Not that Anne Hathaway didn't perform well or anything but Kate Hudson was absolutely lovable.

Liv (Hudson) is a Type A - strongheaded, impatient, miss No. 1 and I-must-be-perfect.
Emma (Hathaway) happens to be Type B - a people pleaser, I'm-human-so-it's-okay-to-cry.

That is until their wedding dates were booked mistakenly for the same date (you must understand that this is for drama purposes lol). Slowly, the brides-to-be have a roller coaster ride respectively, getting sabotaged by each other - WAR! - and another side of their personality began to illuminate.

Emma who was a Type B becomes bolder than ever and starts shedding her patience while Liv, previously a Type A begins to mellow down and misses her girl friend with all the fighting going on.

Maybe that's why I loved Kate Hudson's performance so much. XD

But the best part of the movie was NOT:
- the girls
- the boys
- the dresses (Liv wore a Vera Wang)
- the popcorn (of course not!)

It was the music. They are now hooked on me. Included are Colbie Cailat (Somethin' Special), Natasha Bedingfield (Happy) and Natalie Coleman (This Will Be).

The songs make you happy one. Really!

Maybe you're listening to one now and you didn't even took notice lol.

This movie scored (for me) because of its happy tunes.

I say, girls will be girls.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:

If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!

Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not easily broken.

Yesterday's dinner and the-after-talk was definitely the start of something new besides ahem..!

1. Su Faye is joining Ushering.
God spoke to you somemore. Amen amen! (Finally can rest, don't have to ask already! Lol.)

2. Wen Yi is attending university soon.
Her mom tells her, "university is where you'd meet your soul mate". Your mom cracks me up.

3. Chian Hui is trusting God to lead her path.
Girl, I'm super encouraged to hear your story and I know this one thing, God will bless you.

4. Jue Lyn is ready to get on with life!
I'm thoroughly berbonded after yesterday night. Ditto the verse in green.

Well, after reading just THREE pages of the novel, my sister stood up from her seat and started walking in a unconscious manner, almost drunk after reading it.

I want to eat Bibimbap, again!

The picture is super appetizing, right? Just got to ignore the photographer's saliva though. Haha, no, this is not my picture. I went to Google it.

The Word

Something God spoke to me.
Loud and clear.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning... The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
